Union Home Minister Amit Shah said children, adolescents and young people should learn about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey in public life as an example of public service.
Speaking at the launch of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Vadnagar, Shah said the initiative goes beyond birthday celebrations and aims to familiarise younger generations with PM Modi’s life and work.
The month-long campaign began on September 17, PM Modi’s birthday, and will continue until October 17.
“Some people who look at things negatively have said, ‘ What is the need?” Today, I want to tell them that PM Modi ji’s life is such that every child, every adolescent and every young person in India should be introduced to it, so that in the coming days hundreds of PM Narendra Modis emerge and take India to its rightful place,” he asserted.
Vadnagar-Varanasi Yatra Announced
Shah said he considered it a privilege to be in PM Modi’s ancestral town on his birthday and offered prayers at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple for the Prime Minister’s long and healthy life.
He said the Vadnagar-to-Varanasi journey would carry the message of PM Modi’s public life to people across the country.
According to Shah, Vadnagar represents PM Modi’s birthplace, while Varanasi is his ‘karmabhoomi’. The journey will connect Hatkeshwar Mahadev with Kashi Vishwanath.
Shah recalled PM Modi’s 25 years of public service and referred to his work among poor people, backward communities, Dalits and tribal groups.
He also spoke about PM Modi’s childhood poverty, saying those circumstances did not lead to resentment but instead informed a vision of development covering every section of society.
He claimed that 25 crore people had moved out of poverty during PM Modi’s tenure and that 80 crore people had benefited from welfare initiatives.
Shah also highlighted expanded opportunities for women in the armed forces, police, science, start-ups, drones and sports, along with the proposed 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures.
