Born on May 15, 1907, Sukhdev Thapar was a prominent revolutionary in India’s freedom movement and a key member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA).
Alongside Bhagat Singh and Rajguru, Sukhdev Thapar became an iconic figure in the struggle against British rule, especially after the death of Lala Lajpat Rai during protests against the Simon Commission.
The three revolutionaries were executed in Lahore Jail on March 23, 1931.
India observes Shaheed Diwas every year on March 23 to honour their sacrifice and patriotism.
