On Saturday, approximately 8,000 pilgrims visited the cave shrine, while on Sunday, another 1,677 pilgrims departed from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu en route to the Valley.

“This is the lowest number of pilgrims traveling to the Valley since the Yatra began,” said officials. “Among them, 408 Yatris left at 3:35 a.m. in an escorted convoy of 24 vehicles for the north Kashmir Baltal base camp, while a second convoy with 1,269 Yatris departed in 43 vehicles for the south Kashmir Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp.”

The Yatra has been proceeding smoothly, thanks to the extensive security arrangements provided by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Jammu & Kashmir Police.

The ongoing Yatra, will coincide with the festivals of Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan.
