“Honored to be part of it”: Upendra Rai on Sodierathon

CMD Upendra Rai said during this time that “Today’s generation does not understand the importance of yoga, fitness, health, because the information being given to them is incomplete. In today’s time, packaged food or whatever preservatives are there, they are acting like poison in their lives. In such a situation, Major Poonia and General VK Singh keep making the society aware to stay fit by organizing Soldierthon in different cities. I also feel proud to be a part of it.”

He said, “People are confined to their comfort zone, but those who step out of this comfort zone become an example and inspire others. Today, I saw a 70-year-old woman participating in Soldierathon, whose health did not make it seem that she was so old, even before this, that elderly woman has run many marathons. So this passion should be there in all of us.”

Notably, Fitistan is a community initiative founded by Major Dr. Surendra Poonia, VSM (ex-Special Forces) and Shilpa Bhagat (2013 Mrs. India World) to spread awareness about staying fit. Fitistan aims to become the largest community of Indians who are physically and mentally fit. In memory of the martyrs of Kargil, a fitness challenge was started by ‘Fitistan Ek Fit Bharat’ in collaboration with Bharat Express News Network in early May.
