Law Correspondent, Prayagraj, August 3: The Allahabad High Court has asked the state government to provide information by August 5 regarding the steps taken after the suspicious death of Ruby, a class IX student, at Jaiprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Girls School in Gyaspur, Jaunpur district.
Court Order and Petition
The division bench of Justice Siddharth Verma and Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra issued the order based on a petition by Govind Nishad. Advocates Jaishankar Mishra and Sharadendu Mishra argued the case, demanding a judicial inquiry into Ruby’s death.
Incident Details
Ruby attended school on July 2. About three and a half hours later, the school principal informed her family of her death. The family arrived at the school to find Ruby’s body sealed and being taken for a post-mortem. The school administration allegedly ignored the family’s requests to see the body and forced them to sign the Panchnama. No First Information Report has been filed, and there is no videography or photography of the incident. The family claims the school administration and officials are portraying a murder as a suicide.
