Afghanistan Plane Crash: Indian Aviation Ministry Confirms Not an Indian Aircraft Involved

A plane crashed in the remote mountainous region of Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan on Saturday night, as reported by local police officials to Reuters. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has clarified that the crashed aircraft was neither an Indian-scheduled nor a non-scheduled (NSOP)/Charter aircraft.

According to a senior Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official cited by ANI, the crashed plane was a Moroccan-registered DC-10 aircraft located in the mountains of Topkhana, near the districts of Kuran-Munjan and Zibak in Badakhshan province. The local authorities are yet to officially confirm the aircraft type and the number of casualties.

The unfortunate plane crash that has just occurred in Afghanistan is neither an Indian Scheduled Aircraft nor a Non Scheduled (NSOP)/Charter aircraft. It is a Moroccan registered small aircraft. More details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Russian aviation authorities announced the loss of contact with a Russian-registered plane carrying six passengers over Afghanistan on Saturday evening. The aircraft, identified as a French-made Dassault Falcon 10 jet, was on a charter flight from India via Uzbekistan to Moscow, as reported by Reuters.
