Acharya Pramod Krishnam Questions ‘Fake Secularism’ Amid Kashmir And Bangladesh File Controversies

Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, there has been a surge in violence targeting Hindus. Reports indicate that Hindu homes, businesses, and temples are being attacked, and there are numerous accounts of rape and murder involving Hindu women.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Peethadheeshwar of Kalki Dham in Amroha, UP, has raised concerns about the escalating violence against Hindus in Bangladesh following the recent political upheaval. In a post on X, he criticized the situation by questioning, “What will those who criticize The Kashmir Files say about the situation in Bangladesh? How long will this façade of secularism continue?”

In response to these attacks, the interim government of Bangladesh has issued an apology. Brig. General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hussain, Home Affairs Advisor, acknowledged the failure to protect the minority community and expressed regret. He stated, “We have emphasized that it is the responsibility of the majority community to safeguard our minority brothers. If they neglect this duty and focus solely on their religious practices, they must answer for their failure to ensure security.”
