4 died, 2 injured as vehicle falls into deep gorge on Zojila Pass in Jammu-Kashmir

Two people were injured and four Keralan tourists lost their lives in an accident on Tuesday on Zojila Pass in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

Officials say that while travelling to Sonamarg, the car skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge on Zojila Pass, causing fatalities as well as injuries.

Everyone who were injured were taken to a nearby hospital right away to receive the care they needed. Later, a critically injured patient was moved to SKIMS Soura for more advanced care.

In a similar incident that happened last month in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra belt, a seven-year-old child was killed and three others were injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.

The vehicle was carrying pilgrims who were returning from Mata Vaishnodevi’s cave shrine after  paying obeisance, according to officials.
