2 Women Shot Dead in Delhi, Accused Arrested, Probe Still Going On

On Sunday morning in Delhi’s Ambedkar Basti area, two women were shot and killed by unknown gunmen. The deceased were recognised as Pinky (30) and Jyoti (29). Their remains were moved to SJ hospital.

According to the police, “The assailants came for the victim’s brother primarily. Prima facie, it seems to be a money settlement issue.”A case has been filed under the applicable IPC sections. In meantime, police said that they had arrested the accused.

“Three people identified as Arjun, Michael and Dev have been arrested in connection with the murder of two women. Further probe is being done,” said Manoj C, DCP South West, Delhi.

Delhi CM tweeted on the matter

After the shocking incident Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi tweeted that the national capital would be the safest place if the AAP the power to maintain law and order was with the AAP government, not with the Lieutenant Governor.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the two women. May their souls rest in peace. The people of Delhi have started feeling quite insecure. Those who are responsible for handling the law and order situation in Delhi are hatching conspiracy to take control of Delhi government instead of fixing the situation. Had the law and order situation been under the AAP dispensation instead of the LG, Delhi would have been the safest,” Kejriwal said in a tweet in Hindi.
