
Doctors at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad achieved a significant medical milestone by successfully performing a liver transplant on Modugu Chohan Aditya, a three-year-old boy from Khammam district. Aditya, who was suffering from congenital biliary atresia and liver failure, underwent the advanced procedure on July 3 under the care of Dr. Madhusudan and his team specializing in surgical gastroenterology and liver transplantation.

The transplant, which involved a liver donation from the child’s mother, Amla, was confirmed successful by a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office. Both mother and child were discharged from the hospital on July 16, marking a positive outcome for the complex procedure.
Osmania General Hospital, established in 1910, is renowned as the oldest and one of the largest government-run healthcare institutions in Telangana. The hospital has now completed 30 liver transplant cases, including 8 pediatric liver transplants, further cementing its reputation for providing critical medical interventions to the community.
