The Indian Army’s official fact-check account on X on Wednesday flagged an alleged disinformation campaign by Pakistan-based accounts targeting the Army Chief and soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh.
The accounts allegedly circulated manipulated videos claiming Indian soldiers faced humiliation while the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) danced in a nightclub.
The Army said the accounts used blurry visuals, AI-edited content and a misleading overlay of the Army Chief’s image to create an anti-Army narrative. It urged users to verify information before sharing unverified content.
According to the post, 10 social media handles allegedly circulated the content between 12.40 AM and 8 AM on October 28, 2026.
The identified accounts were @Keziabo2n, @Diksha_sharma03, @IndiaGenzzz, @ThokaReturns, @NilakshiRabhaIN, @BabaThokaIndia, @Clashfire_, @PatelKush51313, @khalsavision2 and @NetaNamaX.

@SpokespersonMoD— INDIAN ARMY FACT CHECK (@MythbusterXX) October 28, 2026
The Army appealed to social media users to verify original footage and rely on credible evidence before sharing potentially misleading material.
The fact-check comes amid concerns over misinformation involving the Indian Army and claims related to sensitive border regions. By identifying the accounts and explaining the alleged manipulation, the Army sought to warn users against content intended to damage the institution’s reputation.
Earlier on Monday, the Army’s fact-check account had flagged another misleading video that purportedly showed Indian personnel transporting wounded soldiers after an alleged confrontation with Chinese People’s Liberation Army troops in Arunachal Pradesh.
The account said several social media handles were circulating the footage with claims linking it to a clash between Indian and Chinese forces, cautioning users against accepting unverified videos as authentic evidence.
