In teaser of the live-action musical “The Archies,” is out, which Zoya Akhtar is directing. The teaser is based on the characters of the well-known American comics of the same name, it’s all about rock ‘n’ roll, friends, love, and more.
According to the streamer, the upcoming Netflix movie is billed as a coming-of-age tale that will expose the youngsters of Riverdale, the fiction hill station, to a younger generation in India. Over 10,000 people cheered as the 1.16-minute clip was unveiled at Netflix’s live global event Tudum on Saturday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
“Are you ready to go back in time? Welcome to the Archies,” wrote Akhtar in her post as she shared the trailer of her movie on her official Instagram account.
After the first look, the main cast was welcomed on stage by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from the well-known Netflix series “Never Have I Ever”. Dot (Ethel Muggs), Agastya Nanda (Archie Andrews), Khushi Kapoor (Betty Cooper), Mihir Ahuja (Jughead Jones), Suhana Khan (Veronica Lodge), Vedang Raina (Reggie Mantle), and Yuvraj Menda (Dilton Doiley) performed the song “Sunoh” on stage during Tudum.
Akhtar said it is nothing short of “awesome” to be in Sao Paulo, showing the first look of “The Archies” at Tudum.
“The performance is being watched digitally by viewers from across the world as well as local Brazilian fans. Even though we are far from home, we are nevertheless greeted with the biggest applause, which serves as a gentle reminder to us that friendship, love, and music are universal and transcend all boundaries.
The fact that Netflix is showcasing the Indian version of the popular IP Archies Comics in Brazil at Netflix’s Tudum is evidence of how far-reaching Netflix is and how tales may originate anywhere and travel everywhere. In a statement, the director stated, “I am very eager for people to enter into Riverdale in the 1960s, meet the young Anglo-Indian youngsters on the block, and groove with the Archies gang.

‘The Archies’ is a coming-of-age musical that is set in 1964 and follows the lives of Riverdale’s favorite group of teens, Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton. “The Archies” examines friendship, independence, love, heartbreak, and rebellion through the prism of the distinctive Anglo-Indian community.
Suhana Khan, the daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Khushi Kapoor, a former Sridevi, and Boney Kapoor, a film producer, all make their acting debuts. Agastya Nanda, the grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, is also breaking into the movie business with this endeavor.
Tiger Baby, Archie Comics, Graphic India, and Netflix India all contributed to the film’s production. The release date for “The Archies” has not yet been disclosed by the streamer.
