Stree, a 2018 horror comedy film starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, received a tonne of positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. The film is a huge hit that reinvented the Bollywood horror-comedy subgenre. Since then, Amar Kaushik-directed movie’s sequel has been eagerly anticipated by fans. The start of the ‘Stree 2’ shoot has now been officially as announced by the producers starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee.
The shooting of film has started, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao dropped the official teaser and wrote caption, “Ek baar phir चंदेरी में फैला aantak! स्त्री २ filming begins Aa rahi hai woh- August 2024!” Teaser revealed that the film will release in August 2024.
The teaser first shows ‘O stree kal aana- 2018,” written on the wall in red. The text then changes to, “O Stree, raksha karna- 2024.” After Rajkummar Rao shared the post, Bhumi Pednekar commented, “Caaaasaant wait guys.” Huma Qureshi could not stop her excitement and dropped fire emojis on film’s teaser.
According to pinkvilla, “Apart from the two leads, Stree 2 will also have a special appearance of Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. Stree 2 would be the first film where characters of the horror universes would be jumping into each other’s narrative. While Bhediya also had a brief appearance from the Stree team, it was merely in the end credit sequence and not a part of the screenplay.”
