She Does Sound Like Somebody’s Daughter,” Arjun Kapoor On Suhana Khan’s Speech On Beauty

At an event in Mumbai earlier this month, the online beauty platform Tira announced the new faces of the brand: Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan. Currently, Gauri Khan has posted a vintage video clip from her daughter’s Arjun Kapoor-hosted interview on Instagram. Suhana, who will shortly make her Bollywood debut, discussed Gen Z’s perception of beauty in the video.

The current generation, she continued, is “challenging and breaking” the arbitrary beauty standards. Suhana spoke with clarity, and Arjun Kapoor remarked, “She does sound like somebody’s daughter, doesn’t she?” Kiara Advani and Kareena Kapoor are also seen in the clip. Suhana [Khan], you are officially our Gen Z  representativ,” Arjun Kapoor says in the video. So, I’m interested. What does the current generation think about beauty? Suhana Khan responds, “I’d like to think that our generation thinks that beauty is more about self-expression and originality than it is about appearance above all else. And, in my opinion, it is now more important to challenge and defy unattainable beauty standards than to establish them. I think we’re reinventing what beauty is by giving it more dimensions, complexity, and meaning beyond what first greets the eye.

“Tira, for every one of you,” delighted mother Gauri Khan remarked when sharing the video. “Tira Beauty” Arjun Kapoor commented on the Instagram image, “[red heart] [smiley] she is rather well spoken.” In the comments, Suhana Khan used the red heart and kiss emojis. Manish Malhotra, a well-known fashion designer, also left red hearts. Zoya Akhtar, a director, responded with an emoji of a smile. With Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, Suhana Khan will make her Bollywood debut opposite Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor.
