‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Ian Gelder Dies At 74

Actor Ian Gelder, who was well-known for playing Kevan Lannister in HBO’s epic series “Game of Thrones,” passed away yesterday at the age of 74.

Ben Daniels, Gelder’s husband, verified the news of his passing and posted the tragic statement on social media.

In a post on Instagram, Daniels expressed his profound grief, stating, “It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder.”

According to Daniels, Gelder had been fighting bile duct cancer since December, and his demise was sudden.

Reminiscing about their three decades together, Daniels called Gelder his “absolute rock,” praising his generosity, kindness, and unshakable devotion.

Actors and colleagues in the business started to pay tribute to Gelder, expressing sympathy and sharing happy memories of him.

Matt Lanter sent Daniels his best wishes and love, and Richard E. Grant expressed his sadness over Ian’s passing.

Leslie Bibb and Missi Pyle also expressed their deepest sympathies, recalling Gelder’s boundless kindness and light.

Ian Gelder’s kindness and talent won him over fans and colleagues alike in his depiction of ‘Game of Thrones’ character, Kevan Lannister.
