Aamir Khan Announces Next Project Lahore 1947, Will Star ‘Immensely Talented’ Sunny Deol As Lead

Producer Aamir Khan has revealed the title of his upcoming venture. Sunny Deol will play the major role in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s upcoming film, Lahore 1947, which will be produced by Aamir Khan.

Aamir announced the information on the Instagram page of his production company. “I am really thrilled and excited to announce our upcoming film, Lahore, 1947, which stars Sunny Deol and is directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi. We are excited to work with Raj Santoshi, one of my favorite directors, and the incredibly talented Sunny. The path we’ve started looks really enriching. We ask for your favor, A,” he wrote.

The two stars’ collaboration thrilled their following. “Wow! It will undoubtedly be a box office hit! awaiting it,” one person wrote. Another said, “This will be fun,” in Hindi. Make it to $1 billion, however you can. We’ll go after Sunny Pazi. Others wondered if Khushwant Singh’s novel Train to Pakistan might serve as the basis for the movie. Up until now, not much is known about the movie’s plot.

Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir’s most recent film, did not perform well at the box office. However, when it appeared on Netflix, they were grateful. The movie, which also starred Kareena Kapoor, was a Hindi translation of the popular Forrest Gump movie with Tom Hanks.

Sunny Deol’s most recent film, Gadar 2, had a tremendous amount of success. After defeating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and earning more than 525 crore at the box office, the movie briefly held the record for the highest-grossing Hindi film in India. Jawan, Shah Rukh’s most recent film, dethroned it from the top place the next day.

Prior to the movie, Sunny and Aamir had never collaborated. However, the two have already engaged in a number of famous box-office confrontations. The first fight at the ticket counter happened in 1990, when Sunny Deol’s Ghayal and Aamir Khan’s Dil had simultaneous releases. Then, in 1996, it was Raja Hindustani vs. Ghatak, and in 2001, Lagaan and Gadar had the biggest box office battle in Indian cinema.
