Wipro staff will work from the office three days a week or more starting on November 15

Wipro has informed its employees that beginning of November 15, they would be required to work from the office three days a week at the latest. This puts Wipro in line with other software heavyweights Infosys (10 days a month) and Tata Consultancy Services (five days a week) who have already implemented a hybrid work strategy.

A decision made by the corporation was communicated to the staff via email on Monday, as reported by source. message from Saurabh Govil, Chief Human Resources Officer at Wipro, was included in the email.

“All workers are required to report to work at their designated office location for a minimum of three days per week starting of November 15. It reported Govil as adding, “This change aims to enhance teamwork, facilitate face-to-face interactions, and strengthen Wipro’s culture.”

However, the fourth-largest software services provider in India and a significant IT player with headquarters in Bengaluru will tailor the policy based on the nation in which a staff member is employed as well as local laws and agreements. Additionally, employee representation groups could be consulted in order to create similar recommendations for European states.

“Work from your desk or else…”

The email also included a warning that those who repeatedly violate the principles will face “consequences” beginning on January 7, but it didn’t say what exactly these “consequences” would be. It stated, “We firmly believe that accountability is essential to our organization’s success and growth.”

According to the Moneycontrol report, the potential outcomes may be as follows: a decline in credibility and confidence with managers and leaders; a decrease in performance and quality of work; an increase in stress; conflicts; and discontent within teams. The management may also take disciplinary action in addition to these.
