WhatsApp Business Users Increase By Fourfold In Just Three Years

On Tuesday, CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that Meta Platforms’ WhatsApp Business application now serves more than 200 million users on its platform, a fourfold increase from around three years ago.

The growth in user base occurs as Meta changes its focus to the development of business messaging as the economy slows its core advertising business.

Meta stated that it would soon begin testing features that will allow small businesses to run advertising that links to the messaging platform without requiring a Facebook account.

For a price, small and medium-sized firms might send personalized communications to their clients, such as appointment reminders and updates on holiday sales.

As CEO Zuckerberg sees business messaging as the company’s next pillar, Meta has been working to monetize its messaging apps, WhatsApp and Messenger.
