Rescheduling

In the wake of the recent terror attack in Srinagar, EaseMyTrip has extended free cancellation and rescheduling waivers for all bookings.

Chairman Nishant Pitti announced that this applies to bookings made on or before April 22 for travel until April 30. He said the move aims to support customers affected by the ongoing uncertainty.

Pitti assured users that EaseMyTrip is working closely with airlines and local authorities.

Taking to X, Pitti posted, “In light of the ongoing situation in Srinagar, we @EaseMyTrip are fully committed to supporting our customers who are traveling to or from Srinagar. We understand the uncertainty this situation may cause and are here to minimize any inconvenience to your travel plans.”

“To ensure flexibility, we have extended free change and cancellation waivers for all bookings made on or before April 22, applicable for travel up to April 30,” the post further added.

It further added, “Additionally, we are coordinating closely with airlines and local authorities and will share regular updates. Your safety and convenience remain our top priorities.”

To ease travel disruptions, the DGCA has urged airlines to increase flight frequencies to and from Srinagar. It has also asked them to waive cancellation and rescheduling fees.

IndiGo and Air India have announced support measures to help stranded tourists return home safely.

The travel crisis follows a deadly terrorist attack on Tuesday in Baisaran, near Pahalgam. Gunmen opened fire on a group of civilians, killing 28 people in one of the worst attacks in the region in years.

Security forces are actively searching the Anantnag forest region for the attackers. Authorities have released sketches of three suspects and launched a large-scale manhunt.

In protest and mourning, various organisations have called for a Jammu bandh.
