Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, vehemently refuted claims circulating online that he is contributing $45 million per month to former President Donald Trump and aligning with Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) campaign.

In a statement posted on X, Musk addressed the rumors head-on.

Musk countered the viral misinformation by declaring the note false. He explained that he had not pledged anything to anyone and noted that while he established a PAC to support candidates advocating for meritocracy and personal freedom, the actual funding was significantly less than claimed.

The controversy surfaced amid allegations that Musk, who has publicly endorsed Trump following a recent assassination attempt on him, is attempting to influence the political landscape through substantial financial contributions.

Critics also charged that Musk’s management of X, has led to an increase in hate speech and misinformation, suggesting a broader attempt to manipulate democratic processes.

President Joe Biden, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, weighed in on the matter, expressing frustration over what he perceives as efforts by wealthy individuals like Musk to sway elections.

“I’m sick of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election,” Biden remarked on Thursday, reflecting ongoing tensions between the tech billionaire and the current administration.

Musk has been a vocal critic of Biden’s policies, particularly regarding immigration and the President’s age.

The ongoing exchange highlights the contentious relationship between Musk and the political establishment as debates about influence and election integrity continue to evolve.
