DGCA Approves Two More Flying Training Organizations

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved two more Flying Training organizations, bringing the total number of FTOs to 36.

According to a senior official at the regulator, licenses have been granted for two FTOs; Dunes Aviation Academy, Bhavnagar in Gujarat, and Indian Flying Academy, Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.

The official stated that with the approval, the total number of FTOs in India has now reached 36, giving a Filip to enhance capacity for training more ab initio pilots within India.

The DGCA issued 1,622 Commercial Pilot Licences (CPLs) in 2023, a 39 percent increase over 2022.

India is one of the world’s fastest-growing civil aviation markets and domestic carriers, such as Air India and IndiGo are expanding their network to meet the increased air traffic demand.
