‘Brahmins Are The Torchbearers Of India’s Cultural & Moral Strength’: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Addressing the newly formed Vishva Brahmin Kalyan Parishad, Dr Sharma said that the Brahmin community epitomises dedication and sacrifice for the nation.

“The Brahmin is one who melts himself to build the nation,” he said, adding that this community has always placed humanity’s welfare above all.

He emphasised that the institution is not limited to a single caste but is dedicated to the wellbeing of all sections of society.

Dr Sharma noted that the community would play a vital role in realising the dream of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and restoring India’s status as Vishvaguru.

Dr Sharma pointed out that even major nations like the United States recognise the intellectual strength of the Brahmin community.

“Most CEOs of leading global companies in America are Brahmins, and even the US President acknowledges their remarkable capabilities,” he said, highlighting their excellence in knowledge, intellect, and leadership.

He added that the Brahmin community not only uplifts itself but also works tirelessly to advance every section of society, serving as a stream of wisdom that nurtures righteous living.

Challenges and Responsibilities

Dr Sharma remarked that the Brahmin’s commitment to righteousness and nation-building has often made them targets throughout history.

“Invaders in India attacked the sacred thread and shikha because they symbolised wisdom and strength,” he said.

He stressed that the community bears no malice toward others but possesses intelligence, strength, and resolve.

He warned against attempts to divide society by caste and reminded the audience that the varna system was originally based on sacrifice and discipline, not hierarchy.

“The British sowed the seeds of caste division. True Brahmins are those who study, teach, interpret sacred texts, uphold values, and think for the nation’s good,” he asserted.

Dr Sharma recalled that the idea of forming a unified organisation for the Brahmin community was first discussed at his residence during a meeting with former Governor Kalraj Mishra.

“The most important goal of this organisation is coordination among all Brahmin groups for the larger good,” he said, stressing unity under one umbrella.

He added that during his tenure as Education Minister, he reopened Sanskrit schools to revive karmkand education and rituals that preserve Sanatan traditions.

Reviving Values and Guiding Youth

Dr Sharma highlighted the erosion of cultural values in modern life, noting that today’s generation defines itself by appearances rather than virtues, and urged families to preserve sanskaras (values).

Commending an organisation in Jaipur, he said it provides spaces and priests for the community to celebrate cultural events, as well as coaching and skill development for youth.

He concluded by stating, “Displaying caste pride is wrong, but there is no harm in showcasing our Sanatan and cultural values.”

The event concluded with all participants unanimously supporting the proposal to appoint former Governor Shri Kalraj Mishra as the organisation’s President.
