In light of the ongoing situation in Israel, our foremost concern is with the well-being of the people of Israel. We are closely monitoring the developments on the ground, primarily focused in South Israel, while recognizing that the Haifa port, a crucial part of our operations, is situated in the North. We want to assure everyone that the safety of our employees remains our top priority, and we can confirm that all of our employees are safe and accounted for.
Organization fully prepared and vigilant
Our organization is fully prepared and vigilant, with a robust business continuity plan in place to respond effectively to any potential challenges or contingencies that may arise from the current situation. While Haifa’s contribution to APSEZ’s overall cargo volume is relatively modest, accounting for approximately 3% of the total cargo volume, we are committed to ensuring the smooth operation of the Haifa port.
Current financial year
For the current financial year (April 2023 to March 2024), we have provided cargo volume guidance for Haifa in the range of 10-12 million metric tons (MMT) and APSEZ’s total cargo volume guidance in the range of 370-390 MMT. In the initial six months (April to September 2023), APSEZ’s total cargo volume reached approximately 203 MMT, with the Haifa port contributing approximately 6 MMT to this total.
Challenges posed by Current situation
Despite the challenges posed by the current situation, we maintain our confidence in APSEZ’s ability to deliver strong business performance and continue serving our customers effectively. Our thoughts are with the affected communities, and we remain committed to navigating these circumstances with resilience and responsibility.
