Adani University conferred 374 degrees at its third convocation ceremony in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Ten graduates received medals for academic excellence, comprising five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
Prof. Govindan Rangarajan, Director of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), attended as the Chief Guest.
His address examined artificial intelligence’s growing role in education and scientific research, alongside concerns about truth, trust and human relationships.
Prof Rangarajan said AI could help researchers address complex problems and accelerate scientific discoveries.
However, he also raised questions about identifying authentic information when technology can generate convincing images, videos and content.
He urged society to embrace AI’s capabilities while carefully considering its wider consequences.
Dr Priti Adani, President of Adani University, presided over the ceremony and welcomed the Chief Guest. She highlighted Prof. Rangarajan’s contributions to mathematics, research and academic leadership.
Discussing industry-academia collaboration, she said exposure to real-world challenges could help both sectors identify questions they might not independently consider.
Dr Adani also urged graduates to build on India’s infrastructure achievements by expanding innovation and incubation.
She encouraged them to develop breakthroughs that benefit the most marginalised communities.
Presenting the annual report, Provost Prof (Dr) Dhaval Pujara highlighted contributions from faculty members, staff, students and industry partners.
He outlined efforts to strengthen academic foundations, expand research and deepen engagement with industry and society.
Established in 2022, Adani University focuses on industry-relevant education, practical learning and research.
Its long-term ambition is to develop into a multidisciplinary institution contributing to India’s development and nation-building.
