Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has announced a significant milestone in the aviation industry, successfully handling over one million tonnes of air cargo in the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The achievement reflects AAHL’s robust operational capabilities and strategic growth trajectory.

In the fiscal year 2023-2024, AAHL’s seven airports facilitated a remarkable 10,13,115 metric tonnes of cargo, capturing an impressive 30.1% market share.

This signifies a significant 7 percent year-on-year increase compared to the previous fiscal year, accentuating the company’s sustained growth momentum.

The majority of AAHL’s cargo operations in FY 2023-2024 were international, accounting for 65 percent of the total cargo managed.

Furthermore, this highlights AAHL’s proficiency in managing global operations while simultaneously maintaining a robust domestic presence.

The international cargo tonnage amounted to 6,62,258 metric tonnes, recording a significant 9 percent year-on-year growth.

The cargo operations were primarily driven by various commodities, including automobiles, pharmaceuticals, perishables, electricals/electronics, and engineering goods.

AAHL efficiently handled these commodities across multiple airports, including :

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai)
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad)
  • Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow)
  • Thiruvananthapuram International Airport
  • Mangaluru International Airport
  • Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (Guwahati), and
  • Jaipur International Airport

Remarkable Milestones:

Noteworthy achievements in the fiscal year 2023-2024 include Mumbai International Airport witnessing the highest recorded volumes in March 2024 and receiving two major awards:

  • Cargo Airport of the Year – Region India at Air Cargo India 2024
  • The Best Cargo Airport – Efficiency & Digitization at the India Cargo Awards 2023

AAHL saw notable additions of new freight operators, including Challenge Group, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Air Pace, Kenya Airways, Indigo, and Uganda Airlines.

SACT at Mumbai implemented 100% virtual account usage by trade partners, marking a significant step towards digitization in domestic cargo operations.

Arun Bansal, CEO of AAHL, proudly announced the achievement. He emphasized the company’s commitment to consistently raising the bar for operational efficiency.

AAHL, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd, emerged as the highest bidder for the operation, management, and development of six airports in 2019, including Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram.
