Artificial Intelligence: Is It End Of The World Or The Ambition To Rule The World?

A clever method to impress people with the severity and importance of your prognosis is to give them either a forecast or a date, but never both at the same time. Something similar is happening in terms of artificial intelligence wiping out the globe. The allegation that AI will destroy the earth is made with tremendous zeal, but the question of when it will do so is carefully avoided.

It is natural for humans to view artificial intelligence as a disaster. Any such technological invention that is released into the market with the claim of bringing about a significant shift captures the attention of a great number of people, and its echo can be heard all around.

Nevertheless, spreading the myth that this one-of-a-kind technology possesses endless power instills fear of the apocalypse. We humans are very anxious about our safety and are suspicious of anything new. Chat GPT, Exaggerated promises about technology’s capacities and powers, such as Bard or LLM, produce a sense of unease in our subconscious, and in this scared panic, we begin to imagine the end of the world. That has been happening since the Stone Age.

Since the Stone Age, whenever humans are terrified of an unidentified force, we elevate it to the level of a deity. We have begun to view AI from the same perspective as a result of this poor marketing, and we are enraged by its threat to wipe out humans.

A significant number of globally influential thinkers and businesspeople demanded in a letter last month that the advancement of AI be put on hold. Leading AI researcher Geoffrey Hinton recently expressed his concern that AI might surpass human intellect and be easily abused. It is difficult to predict how much of an impact these acts will have on the rapidly advancing field of AI.

Nonetheless, it cannot be disputed that it has sparked tense conversations about AI annihilating humanity by taking on the form of the Almighty or Bhasmasur.

The idea that “artificial intelligence would one day wipe out all of humanity” is absurd and infantile in today’s technologically advanced society, just like the fear of genuinely interacting with others following Facebook’s Metaverse revelation. In actuality, it is an advertising strategy like to a potent advertisement. It is employed by large tech firms based in Silicon Valley for their own commercial interests, goals, and personal gain. They try to persuade you that their technology is so potent that it can end the existence of the world in order to establish their importance.

By describing the significance of AI, it is made clear that the development of AI has sparked the spread of false information, which has the potential to lead the universe in the wrong direction. Influential individuals, however, have a history of spreading rumours, distorting the truth, and changing history to suit their own convenience in order to further their own personal goals. This used to occur even before there were any computers or artificial intelligence (AI) to speak of. People were duped even then because lies were disseminated in a systematic manner.

In actuality, this issue is more political than technical. For instance, Facebook had to delete 2.2 billion bogus profiles in the first quarter of 2019.

AI played no part in it. which served political purposes. If AI is viewed from a transparent, non-biased perspective, it is not a curse but a blessing. The work required to construct a lie can be significantly reduced with the aid of AI, and the lie can be found much more quickly.

A comparable ecosystem was established when computers first appeared. It was portrayed as an illogical machine that could resolve any issue and was managed by a small group of hands, much like Lalbuzhakad. But, we now understand that a computer is not a hawk. AI also lacks consciousness. It is merely a set of computational rules developed by people. The fundamental fact is that AI is merely a toy owned by humans that dances as instructed by humans. Still, these forces aim to become our deity by portraying AI as Shivji’s third eye in order to further their own interests. We must be wary of their plot and avoid falling for their trickery.

Now that the assumption that AI would end the planet is hypocritical, ears are open. You could counter that I’ve been hearing about this fictitious holocaust for a very long time. The planet is still intact today and will remain so, despite the fact that I have been reading and seeing science fiction books and films about AI’s victory over humans. Now, I won’t accept this unless I personally witness the earth passing before my eyes.
