Tragic Electrocution Incident Claims 24-Year-Old Man’s Life At Delhi’s Gym

A 24-year-old man lost his life due to electrocution while running on a treadmill at a gym in Rohini, Delhi.

In a shocking and unforeseen incident, a 24-year-old man lost his life due to electrocution while running on a treadmill at a gym in Rohini, Delhi. The victim, identified as Saksham Pruthi, a resident of Rohini Sector 19, was a regular at Gymplex Fitness Zone in Sector 15.

As per the reports, Saksham collapsed while exercising on the treadmill on Tuesday evening. He was immediately rushed to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini Sector 6, where medical authorities declared him dead.

Following the tragic incident, the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital informed the police about Saksham’s demise, leading to an investigation into the matter. The postmortem examination of the body confirmed electrocution as the cause of death.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini), Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, stated that a case has been registered under sections 287 (negligence in relation to machinery) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with the incident.

In response to the incident, the gym manager, Anubhav Duggal, has been arrested by the police, and a case has been registered against him under IPC section 287, which relates to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligent conduct with respect to machinery.

Further investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the electrocution and to ascertain if there were any lapses in safety protocols at the gym.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the utmost importance of ensuring safety measures and regular maintenance of gym equipment to prevent such accidents. It also underscores the need for vigilance and prompt action in emergency situations to avoid any untoward incidents.
