Police reported on Sunday that woman hanged herself after allegedly killing her four children in the Mandali area of Rajasthan’s Barmer district.
According to authorities, the woman first placed her four children in a grain drum and locked the lid before taking her own life on Saturday evening.
DSP Kamlesh Kumar said, “The deceased have been identified as Urmila (27), of Baniyawas village, and four children, Bhavna (8), Vikram (5), Vimla (3), and Manisha (2)”.
Jetharam, her husband, had gone to Jodhpur for work when the tragedy occurred.
Police said that all five remains have been detained at a mortuary for post-mortem examination.
“A preliminary inquiry revealed that the woman committed herself after killing her children due to a disagreement with her husband”, police added.
The incident has been reported to the woman’s family. According to authorities, additional action will be taken if family members arrive.
