Punjab and Haryana High Court Questions Punjab Police
Tensions are going in the state of Punjab over the absconding Khalistani leader, Amritpal Singh. Amidst this, Punjab and Haryana high court has issued a statement condemning the police force of the state. The court has also asked them to submit a status report on their operation against the Khalistani leader.
The High Court asked, “When there was a threat to the security of the country, what was the government doing till now? They were roaming around with weapons. How did he manage to escape despite so many police? What are 80,000 police doing when the country’s security is in danger?”

Punjab Police expressed that they are running a major operation to find out Amritpal Singh. Also, they were able to arrest 120 of his supporters under this operation.
Although, the leader was able to escape from the dragnet of police while his gang was caught in the Jalandhar district. The accused was last seen running away on a motorcycle.
Bhagwant Mann said
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that strict action will be taken against those trying to disturb peace and harmony in the state.
“We will not spare any force working against the country. People of this state want peace and progress,” Mr. Mann said. Adding to this, no incident of violence has been reported since the operation to arrest the Khalistani leader began.
The case history of Amritpal Singh
Singh has been active in Punjab and is frequently seen being escorted by armed followers. He is referred to as “Bhindranwale 2.0” by his admirers and declares allegiance to the terrorist and Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
A month ago, Amritpal Singh and his supporters bashed a police station with weapons and swords to demand the release of one of his aides. In the incident, six police officers suffered injuries.
