Rahul Gandhi Can Become PM Only In ‘Mock Parliament’, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah mocked Rahul Gandhi’s Prime Ministerial ambitions and condemned the Congress rally in Delhi.

Rahul Gandhi Can Become PM Only In ‘Mock Parliament’, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said Rahul Gandhi could become the country’s Prime Minister only in a ‘Mock Parliament’. He added that the Congress leader would never secure the position in the real Parliament.

Speaking at an event in Chandigarh, Shah referred to the Congress’s mock impeachment proceedings against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

He said Rahul Gandhi had faced electoral defeats for 15 years and that his mother, Sonia Gandhi, had failed to fulfil her dream of seeing him become Prime Minister.

Shah also condemned the Congress for organising a rally in Delhi on November 1, the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

He accused the party of hurting the families of victims by holding the event during the community’s four-day mourning period.

“On November 1, 1984, the Congress orchestrated the massacre of thousands of innocent Sikhs in Delhi, and today, on the same day, Rahul Gandhi held a rally in Delhi, rubbing salt into the wounds of those victim families,” Shah said.

“I condemn the Congress for this rally on the day of the massacre. And I want to tell him (Rahul Gandhi) that due to his insensitivity, his ‘Mohabat ki Dukan’ will not be able to give people anything other than hatred,” he added.

Shah Highlights Government Action

The Home Minister said the Narendra Modi government reopened cases against guilty Congress leaders, sent them to jail, provided compensation to victims’ families and offered employment.

He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi took instructions from abroad to organise the rally despite appeals from Sikh groups and the BJP.

Shah said Delhi traders had requested the Congress to postpone the event until after Diwali to prevent business losses.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri led a BJP march in West Delhi against the 1984 riots. The march carried the message ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ and expressed solidarity with the victims.
