Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand will arrive in New Delhi on Tuesday for a three-day visit aimed at advancing cooperation between India and Canada across key economic and strategic areas.
Anand will meet External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Wednesday to discuss priorities outlined in the bilateral roadmap, including trade, energy, people-to-people ties, security and defence.
The meeting will mark the 11th interaction between Jaishankar and Anand since September 2025, reflecting sustained diplomatic engagement between New Delhi and Ottawa.
The Canadian government has described the continued dialogue as part of a growing bilateral relationship.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Anand will meet Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary in New Delhi.
During her visit, the Canadian Minister will participate in the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, where she will join a panel discussion on middle powers and the changing global order.
According to Global Affairs Canada, Anand will highlight the importance of multilateral and plurilateral cooperation amid growing geopolitical uncertainty. She will underline Canada’s role as a reliable partner for India and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
Both countries aim to deepen economic and strategic ties, with trade, energy and defence expected to feature prominently in the discussions.
After her India visit, Anand will travel to the UAE to meet Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Jaishankar and Anand last met on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September. Following their meeting, Jaishankar wrote that they had held a productive discussion as both sides prepared to take bilateral relations to a higher level.
