Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a commanding 57-run win over Rajasthan Royals in the 21st match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The result brought an end to Rajasthan’s four-match winning streak in the tournament.

Despite the defeat, Rajasthan Royals retained their position at the top of the points table with four wins from five matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to fourth place after registering their second victory in five games.

Batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted an imposing total of 216 for 6 in their allotted overs. The innings began on a poor note as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed on the very first delivery.

Ishan Kishan stabilised the innings alongside Travis Head, with the duo adding 55 runs for the second wicket.

Travis Head scored 18 runs, while Kishan anchored the innings with a superb knock. Following Head’s dismissal, Kishan combined with Heinrich Klaasen to add 88 runs in quick time, putting the team in a strong position.

The captain scored 91 off 44 balls, including six sixes and eight fours, while Klaasen contributed 40 runs. Nitish Reddy added 28, and Salil Arora remained unbeaten on 24.

Rajasthan Royals faltered in their chase and were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. Debutant Praful Hinge made an immediate impact by taking three wickets in his opening over, leaving RR in deep trouble early in the innings.

The team lost key wickets, including Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Riyan Parag, within the initial overs. At one stage, RR slumped to 9 for 5, putting them on the back foot.

Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira attempted a recovery with a crucial 118-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Ferreira scored 69 runs, while Jadeja added 45. However, once the partnership ended, the innings quickly collapsed.

Praful Hinge led the bowling attack with four wickets, while Saqib Hussain also claimed four scalps. Ishan Malinga contributed with two wickets, completing a comprehensive victory for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
