Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday pledged that the BJP aims to take decisive action in West Bengal. He stated that a special investigation will be launched if the party comes to power in the state.
The probe will aim to identify individuals who have facilitated illegal infiltrators entering and settling in the state.
Addressing a campaign rally in Suri, Birbhum, he said, “I promise the residents of Bengal that once the BJP government is formed in the state, there will be a special investigation into the infiltration issue. We will investigate and identify those who supported and facilitated the infiltration. No one will be spared. In addition, we will also drive the infiltrators out of Bengal.”
The Prime Minister’s rally in Birbhum was his third of the day, following earlier engagements in Haldia, East Midnapore. He also addressed a rally in Asansol, West Burdwan, reflecting an intense campaign schedule.
Trinamool Accused of Promoting Bomb Factories
PM Modi criticised the ruling party, claiming, “Trinamool Congress is building crude bomb factories in every corner of the state. The Trinamool Congress government has turned this into a cottage industry. The real small industrial units have closed in the state, and they have been replaced by crude bomb factories. However, this is my guarantee that all these bomb factories would be closed down once the BJP comes to power in West Bengal.”
He further highlighted the closure of state-run schools under the current regime and added, “Closing down schools means a dark future for the next generation. I am sure that the young generation will free West Bengal of this anarchy this time.”
The Prime Minister also condemned the disrespect shown to the nation’s highest office, stating, “This is their level of arrogance, and that the state government does not even show respect to the President of the country.”
PM Modi’s remarks focused on law and order, governance, and youth development as West Bengal heads into elections.
The state will vote in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
