In a significant initiative to strengthen engagement with Urdu media, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hosted a historic and cordial dialogue with leading Urdu journalists and editors at the party’s state headquarters today.
The meeting aimed to build better communication and address key civic concerns affecting the people of Delhi.
Delhi Hajj Committee Chairperson Kausar Jahan facilitated the session and played an instrumental role in making the dialogue possible.
Emphasising the importance of such interactions, Jahan said that consistent dialogue helps promote mutual understanding, coordination, and harmony.
BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva and General Secretary (Organisation) Pawan Rana graced the meeting. They engaged in an open exchange on public issues, party direction, and upcoming initiatives for the capital.
Active participation from Urdu media
The delegation of Urdu journalists included Munisif TV’s National Bureau Editor Khursheed Rabbani, Hamara Samaj Editor Sadiq Sherwani, Siyasi Taqdeer Editor Mustaqeem Khan, Bharat Express Urdu Editor Dr Khalid Raza Khan, Sahara Urdu Roznama Correspondent Izhar Hasan, Zee Salaam Reporter Syed Mubashir, Inquilab Correspondent Fuzail Ahmed, and Hindustan Live YouTube Editor Farhan Yahya, among others.
The participants raised a range of civic challenges facing Delhi, urging the BJP leadership to take proactive steps in addressing them.
They also highlighted that the Urdu media has long played a pivotal role in voicing public issues. They added that it has consistently recognised and reported on positive government initiatives.
Sachdeva attentively listened to the concerns and assured the media representatives that he would raise their issues through appropriate platforms.
Appreciating the Urdu media’s balanced coverage, he expressed a commitment to maintaining regular interaction in the future.
General Secretary Pawan Rana echoed this sentiment, calling the session ‘meaningful and productive’. The meeting concluded with optimism for continued cooperation and mutual trust, signalling the dawn of a new phase in political-media relations dedicated to public welfare.
