PM Modi Addresses BJP Women Workers In Bihar; Calls For Record Voter Turnout

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed grassroots BJP women workers in Bihar via a telephonic conference on Tuesday, urging them to ensure a record voter turnout in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

The hour-long interaction focused on women’s empowerment and government initiatives, with PM Modi commending the efforts of Panna Pramukhs across the state.

During the virtual meet, PM Modi lauded the role of women in bridging societal gaps and highlighted schemes such as the Garib Kalyan Yojana, which he said have improved livelihoods and reduced domestic violence.

Shalini, a Panna Pramukh, expressed gratitude for the schemes, blessing the Prime Minister and emphasising their transformative impact on women’s lives.

“The country was once male-dominated, but we women are now actively contributing to social and economic progress,” she said, echoing PM Modi’s call for grassroots mobilisation.

Neelam Chandravanshi, a self-help group leader from rural Bihar, shared her journey of empowering 180 women through savings, livestock, and entrepreneurship, aided by the PM Mudra scheme.

PM Modi encouraged her efforts, urging similar initiatives to raise awareness about voting and democratic participation.

Critique of Past Governance

The Prime Minister also criticised the ‘Jungle Raj’ period, underlining women’s enhanced safety and independence today.

Gunja Baingani, State President of the BJP’s farmers’ wing, reported on booth-level mobilisation, including voter assistance for the elderly and physically challenged.

PM Modi highlighted achievements such as electricity provision under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Metro Rail projects, ensuring women’s safe travel.

Vandana Patel, a BJP Mahila Morcha member, spoke on agricultural reforms, job creation promises, and direct financial assistance to women, reinforcing the government’s developmental initiatives.

The telephonic meet concluded with PM Modi motivating women to lead door-to-door outreach, aiming for unprecedented voter participation.

“This time, Bihar will break records with the help of women,” he said, expressing confidence in their ability to drive change across villages and communities.

This engagement highlights the BJP’s strategic focus on women’s votes in Bihar, leveraging empowerment narratives and government schemes to energise voters ahead of the elections.
