Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate World Food India (WFI) 2025 in New Delhi today at 6 PM, marking a significant step towards positioning India as a global food hub.
The mega event, organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, is expected to be the largest edition to date, attracting over 90 participating countries, 2,000 exhibitors, and tens of thousands of stakeholders across the food value chain.
Seen as one of the biggest congregations of policymakers, global business leaders, investors, innovators, and industry stakeholders, WFI 2025 will provide a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaborations, and strategic partnerships.
The event will feature sectoral exhibitions highlighting the latest innovations in food processing, packaging, cold chain, machinery, and allied industries.
Alongside business networking opportunities, the exhibition space will celebrate India’s diverse food heritage through culinary experiences, chef competitions, and showcases of sustainable and futuristic food trends.
Moreover, high-level sessions and panel discussions led by global thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts will focus on emerging opportunities in food-tech, climate-smart agriculture, nutrition, and international trade.
International Collaborations
Adding to its stature, WFI 2025 will host two major global events in parallel.
The 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit, organised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), will emphasise international cooperation on food safety standards.
Simultaneously, the 24th India International Seafood Show (IISS), led by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), will highlight India’s growing potential in seafood exports.
This year’s edition will also witness strong participation from Partner Countries New Zealand and Saudi Arabia, with Japan, the UAE, Vietnam, and Russia as Focus Countries.
Their involvement will deepen bilateral cooperation, enhance knowledge sharing, and unlock new avenues for trade and investment in the global food sector.
World Food India 2025 builds on five pillars: sustainability, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, global leadership, and innovation.
Furthermore, the event aligns with the government’s broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, aiming to make India a developed and globally competitive nation.
Through advanced technologies, international partnerships, and investment opportunities, WFI 2025 seeks to enhance farmer incomes, reduce post-harvest losses, and create employment opportunities in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
By supporting micro-enterprises and encouraging innovation, the initiative will also promote rural prosperity while strengthening the Make in India brand on the global stage.
