Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted India’s political stability, economic strength, and rapid expansion while inviting Japan to collaborate in manufacturing, technology, innovation, renewable energy, and skills development at a major economic forum.
Speaking at the India–Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo, PM Modi stressed that the global community is not only observing India’s rise but also placing confidence in its future, as the nation moves closer to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
“In India, capital doesn’t just grow, it multiplies. You are all aware of the growth and transformation that have taken place in India over the last 11 years,” he remarked during his address.
He further underlined, “India has political stability, economic stability, transparency in policy, and predictability. Today, India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world. And, very soon, it is going to become the third-largest economy in the world.”
PM Modi’s Arrival In Tokyo
The Prime Minister landed in Tokyo on Friday morning to begin a two-day official programme centred on the 15th India–Japan Annual Summit.

Earlier in the day, he praised the Indian community in Japan for upholding their cultural identity while actively contributing to Japanese society.
Members of the diaspora greeted the Prime Minister enthusiastically, organising traditional performances and extending a spirited welcome as he arrived in the Japanese capital for his two-day visit.
Over the course of 29–30 August, PM Modi will hold his first formal bilateral discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The two leaders are set to review the progress of the India–Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with attention on defence and security, trade and investment, digital transformation, climate cooperation, and innovation.
Following his engagements in Japan, the Prime Minister will travel to China to take part in the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
