Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on a two-day visit to Gujarat, underlined India’s rising military strength with a direct reference to Operation Sindoor. He also pledged to protect the interests of farmers, small entrepreneurs, and livestock rearers.
Addressing a large gathering after launching several projects, PM Modi drew a sharp contrast between the Congress and the BJP governments. He said earlier administrations ignored terror attacks, while his government acted decisively.
“Terrorists used to shed the blood of innocents, and the government in Delhi did nothing. However, today we don’t spare the terrorists and their masters, no matter where they are holed up,” PM Modi declared.
He added that the world witnessed India’s swift retaliation in Pahalgam, where in just 22 minutes hideouts inside Pakistan were destroyed.
Farmers and Small Entrepreneurs Priority
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the farming and rural economy. He said the welfare of farmers, fishermen, and livestock rearers was a matter of paramount importance.
“From Ahmedabad, I tell small entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, farmers, and livestock-rearers that your welfare is paramount for Modi. My government will never allow harm to come to you,” he assured.
PM Modi also accused Congress of keeping India dependent on foreign nations for decades. He argued that such reliance encouraged corruption during imports.
“In contrast, today’s India has embraced self-reliance as the cornerstone for building a Viksit Bharat,” he said.
Turning to Gujarat’s growth, PM Modi hailed the state as India’s new manufacturing hub. He said industries were rapidly expanding, and major global companies were setting up factories in the state.
The Prime Minister noted that Gujarat is also emerging as a key centre for Electric Vehicle manufacturing.
“Nearly every city in Gujarat is surrounded by vast industrial corridors,” he pointed out.
He further stressed the government’s work in improving connectivity.
“Over the past 11 years, 3,000 kilometres of railway tracks have been laid, and the entire railway network in Gujarat has been fully electrified,” PM Modi told the crowd.
