PM Modi Slams Congress For Weakening Defence, Lauds Indigenous Power In Operation Sindoor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking during the Lok Sabha debate, accused Congress of deliberately dismantling India’s once-thriving defence manufacturing sector.

“There was a time when Bharat led the world in arms production. We made the finest swords and equipment, but Congress crushed this legacy after Independence,” he said.

PM Modi contrasted this decline with India’s resurgence under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, asserting that the country is reclaiming its status as a global defence powerhouse.

“While India moves towards self-reliance, Congress still looks to Pakistan even for political narratives,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister credited the success of Operation Sindoor to India’s investments in indigenous defence technology.

He highlighted the use of Made-in-India drones, missiles, and strategic systems in striking terror networks inside Pakistan.

“If we hadn’t built a self-reliant defence infrastructure over the past decade, the cost of Operation Sindoor could have been devastating,” PM Modi said.

Celebrating the scale of the mission, he added, “From Sindoor to Sindhu, the world saw India’s capability. Our enemies now understand that India will strike on its terms, at its own time.”

Global Support and Opposition Silence

PM Modi underlined the international backing India received during the operation.

“In the United Nations, 193 countries supported India; only three stood with Pakistan,” he said.

He expressed disappointment with the Congress’s stance, stating, “The world supported our soldiers’ bravery, but Congress stayed silent. Earlier, they asked for proof of surgical strikes; now, they question why the mission stopped. Their pattern is to oppose for the sake of opposition.”

PM Modi also accused Congress of undermining the morale of Indian forces and damaging the country’s defence narrative.

He reiterated that strengthening indigenous defence production is not just about security but also national pride and economic growth.

“Our forces now fight with weapons made in Bharat. Every missile and drone used in Operation Sindoor carries the stamp of India’s self-reliance,” he said.

PM Modi’s address highlighted the government’s push towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat while framing the debate on national security as a choice between self-reliance and political compromise. His speech reinforced Operation Sindoor as a turning point for India’s indigenous defence capability and global stature.
