United States Vice President JD Vance, along with Second Lady Usha Vance and their three children, began their four-day official visit to India on Monday by visiting the iconic Akshardham Temple in New Delhi.
The visit, scheduled from April 21 to 24, includes stops in Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra.
Explore Akshardham And Offers Prayers for World Peace
Upon arrival in the capital, Vice President Vance and his family headed straight to the Akshardham Temple.
According to temple spokesperson Radhika Shukla, the family spent approximately 55 minutes exploring the temple complex, admiring its architecture, and participating in prayer rituals.
“Their experience of one hour inside was unforgettable,” said Shukla.
“They began with the Charanarvind of Lord Swaminarayan, then visited Bharat Upvan and Gajendra Peeth, where they were moved by the intricate carvings. After ascending to the sanctum sanctorum, they had darshan of Lord Swaminarayan’s idol and prayed for world peace.”
Second Lady’s Indian Roots Highlighted During Visit
Shukla noted that the visit held special significance for Usha Vance, who has Indian heritage. “They came directly from the airport. After viewing the replica of Lord Swaminarayan, they explored the temple’s architecture,” she added.
