East Coast And Central Railways Break Records
East Coast Railway (ECoR) set a historic record in freight loading. It became the first railway zone to surpass 250 million tons (MT) of freight in FY 2024-25.
It achieved this on March 21, 2024, 11 days ahead of schedule.
Meanwhile, Central Railway also posted strong numbers. It recorded 74.39 MT of freight loading by February 28, 2025. In February alone, it moved 7.28 MT, showing steady growth.
Northern Railway Reports Record Revenue
Northern Railway achieved a revenue milestone in Parcel & Luggage services.
By February 2025, it earned Rs 534.94 crore, marking a 10% rise from Rs 485.39 crore in 2023-24. This increase reflects better efficiency and customer-focused freight services.
With rapid freight growth, IR is becoming a global logistics powerhouse. Its strong network, improved speed, and modernized systems are driving higher cargo movement.
