Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) on Thursday signed an agreement to develop eight hotels with more than 2,000 rooms across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati.
The partnership aims to strengthen hospitality infrastructure at key aviation hubs and cater to growing travel demand.
Under the agreement, AAHL will develop the properties, while IHCL will operate them under its Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands.
The hotels will serve business, leisure and transit travellers, offering accommodation, dining, meeting facilities, wellness amenities and recreational services.
The portfolio will comprise three Taj hotels, two Vivanta properties, one Gateway hotel and two Ginger hotels. Mumbai will have a Taj hotel at Terminal 2 of the airport.
Lucknow will get Vivanta and Ginger hotels, while Ahmedabad will have Taj and Vivanta properties, both at advanced stages of development. Guwahati will host Taj, Gateway and Ginger hotels.
Jeet Adani, Director at AAHL, said leading airports worldwide were evolving into integrated destinations that support commerce, tourism and urban development.
“Our partnership with IHCL is an important step in this journey, bringing together our hospitality-led mixed-use destinations and India’s leading hospitality company to create world-class hotels across key airport cities with its brands including the iconic Taj,” he said.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, said airport-linked developments were emerging as important commercial and hospitality hubs as India strengthened its position in the global aviation market.
The partnership aims to expand hospitality offerings within Adani Airports’ Airport City developments and support regional economic growth while strengthening India’s travel and tourism infrastructure.
