Acting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, ultra-modern mist blowers and mini fogging machines were effectively used at the Maha Kumbh, providing relief from mosquitoes and flies for saints and devotees.
Buoyed by this success, the state government now plans to introduce these machines across Uttar Pradesh to curb insect-borne diseases.
This initiative will however equip municipal corporations with 107 high-tech mist blowers and provide the Health Department with 110 mini-fogging machines.
These machines, which played a crucial role in keeping Akharas insect-free, will now aid in controlling diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.
Capable of reaching affected areas within 30 minutes of a call, they ensure a swift response to outbreaks.
Dr. VP Singh, Nodal Joint Director (Vector Control) for Maha Kumbh, stated that the 107 mist blowers would used to spray pesticides in garbage-prone and unsanitary areas, improving hygiene across the state.
Additionally, the 110 mini-fogging machines allocated to the Health Department will be instrumental in disease control, particularly in flood-affected regions.
Mobile Fogging Units For Immediate Action
Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Assistant Nodal and DMO of Vector Control, emphasized that the mobile vector control units will be active throughout Uttar Pradesh, facilitating immediate fogging and mist spraying in high-risk zones.
Special instructions from CM Yogi Adityanath have however led to the rollout of a dedicated service to protect residents from mosquitoes and flies.
Meanwhile, these advanced machines, previously deployed at Maha Kumbh, will now assist municipal corporations in spraying pesticides, especially in flood-prone areas where mosquito breeding is rampant.
Under the vector control strategy, dengue or malaria cases will trigger fogging at the patient’s residence and in 50 surrounding houses to curb disease spread.
The mini fogging machines will be a key tool in tackling mosquito-borne illnesses efficiently.
With the success of this technology at Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government will likely implement it statewide, aiming for a significant reduction in insect-borne diseases and improved public health.
