On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Police reviewed security preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh, likely to take place in Prayagraj from 10 January to 24 February 2025.
Amitabh Yash, Additional Director General (ADG), Law and Order, led the assessment, emphasizing the focus on comprehensive security measures.
He stated, “Today, I have come here with a full team to review the arrangements. The work being undertaken for overall security, including cyber security, is being assessed by the ADG office. Information has also been gathered on prioritising the tasks that need completion. The arrangements are quite satisfactory.”
The ADG asserted that CCTV cameras with face recognition technology have been deployed at the site, along with comprehensive lighting arrangements to ensure safety during the ‘Mela’.
“CCTV cameras with face recognition and other advanced features have been installed. Complete lighting arrangements have been made. Continuous drills are being conducted to handle any emergency situation,” Amitabh Yash added.
CM Yogi Highlights Progress In Maha Kumbh 2025 Preparations
Earlier on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the rapid progress in preparations, noting strong coordination between the Central and State Governments.
After reviewing the preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, he highlighted the extensive efforts being made while addressing journalists.
“Every institution is actively engaged to ensure the success of this grand event,” CM Adityanath noted.
He described the Maha Kumbh as both a religious celebration and a platform to showcase Prayagraj’s hospitality. He called on the people of Prayagraj to work together to ensure the event’s success and enhance the city’s global standing.
CM Yogi further revealed that preparations for the grand ‘Sanatan Gaurav Maha Kumbh are progressing steadily.
“So far, land has been allocated to over 20,000 saints and institutions through a comprehensive registration process. This includes allotments to all 13 Akharas, Dandiwada, Acharyawada, Prayagwal Sabha, Khak Chowk, and others. Efforts are ongoing to complete the allocation process for the remaining and newly registered institutions by 5 January,” he noted.
The ‘Shahi Snan’ (royal baths) will take place on 14 January (Makar Sankranti), 29 January (Mauni Amavasya), and 3 February (Basant Panchami).
