A trainee IPS officer from the 2013 batch, Rahul Balhara, has been accused of assaulting a young man during a wedding ceremony at a farmhouse in the Kapashera area of Delhi. The officer allegedly struck the victim, Vikas Dhayal, on the head with a glass while under the influence of alcohol. Victim Alleges Police Threats
Vikas Dhayal shared a video and photos of his injuries on social media, alleging inaction by the police. He claimed that instead of addressing his complaint, the Kapashera police station issued him a notice to appear for questioning. Vikas further alleged that the police threatened him and his friends, some of whom had recently appeared for the UPSC Mains exam.
In a social media post, Vikas wrote, “My head was broken, and I bled heavily. The trainee IPS officer, intoxicated by the power of the uniform, humiliated me. This incident is not only shameful for me but also for my family and friends.”
