Film Highlights the Tragedy
The film depicts the burning of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra railway station. It focuses on the 59 Hindu pilgrims and karsevaks returning from Ayodhya who died in the fire.
Alok Bhatt, a cinegoer, called the movie a “must-watch.” He praised its sensitive approach to a controversial topic. He said, “The film gives the 59 innocent victims a voice. Truth alone triumphs.” He also criticized those who used the incident for political motives to tarnish leaders’ reputations.
A Tribute to the Victims
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the 126-minute film features Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna. The Central Board of Film Certification gave it a U/A certificate after making minor edits to violent scenes and dialogue.
PM Modi, Gujarat’s Chief Minister during the tragedy, endorsed the film. He called it a step toward ensuring the victims’ stories reach the people. The movie pays tribute to those who lost their lives in the horrific incident.
