The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Ramchandra Kushwaha, a Banda resident serving life imprisonment for murder. The decision was made by a division bench comprising Justice Ashwini Mishra and Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary, who accepted the defense’s argument that Kushwaha has no prior criminal history.
Kushwaha was convicted on July 17, 2019, after being accused based on his last known whereabouts with the deceased. He has been incarcerated since August 20, 2015, with the case registered at the Naraini police station.

During the hearing, the court noted that the appeal for acquittal may take considerable time. Additionally, a key witness admitted that Kushwaha was not present with the victim at the time of the incident.
The court has imposed several conditions for the bail, requiring Kushwaha to provide two sureties and submit an affidavit to the judicial magistrate, affirming his commitment to cooperate with the appeal proceedings. Furthermore, he must deposit half of the fine amount within six weeks of his release.
