A special train carrying passengers from the Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express, which was involved in a collision in Tamil Nadu, arrived safely in Darbhanga on Monday morning. The Bagmati Express was traveling from Mysore to Darbhanga when it collided with a stationary freight train near Kavaraipettai railway station in the Tiruvallur district on October 11.
Passengers Share Their Experiences
Upon arriving at Darbhanga station, passengers expressed relief and recounted their frightening experiences, many attributing their survival to divine intervention. They praised the swift response from the railways, the Tamil Nadu administration, and local residents, who provided assistance in the aftermath of the accident.

Sunil Kumar, one of the injured passengers, described the moment of impact: “We were resting after dinner when suddenly there was a strong jolt, and I fell from my seat and fainted. Others helped me, and when I regained consciousness, the medical team was already there to assist me.”
Scenes of Chaos
Another passenger, Rahul Kumar, shared his distressing observations: “The scene outside was terrifying, with one bogie piled on top of another. I lost all my belongings, including money and tickets, and couldn’t recover anything.”
Kiran Devi recounted the moments leading up to the crash: “We were waiting for our food when there was a loud noise. Chaos erupted as people shouted that the train had overturned. Our bogie derailed, but thankfully, we remained unharmed. By the grace of God, everyone in our bogie escaped injury.”
Gratitude for Survival
Radheshyam Jha also expressed gratitude for his survival: “We escaped with our lives, and after exiting the bogie, we saw no loss of life. While there were injuries among some passengers and damage to the train, the panic and confusion inside the bogie were overwhelming. It took us a moment to understand what had happened.”
As passengers settle back into their routines, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the unpredictability of travel and the importance of safety measures on trains.
