Roy’s body was found hanging from a tree in a village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Wednesday. Police had been searching for him since the murder came to light last Saturday.

Mahalaxmi’s body was discovered by her relatives, who noticed a foul smell emanating from her house. Investigation revealed that she was murdered between September 2-3, and her body was cut into pieces using a sharp-edged weapon.

The Karnataka Police had launched a massive manhunt for Roy, sending four teams to Odisha. Roy was a team head at the mall where Mahalaxmi worked.
