Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will campaign for the Haryana Assembly elections on Thursday, addressing rallies in the Assandh and Barwala constituencies. The campaign aims to project unity within the party as the central leadership has brokered an uneasy truce among its warring factions.
Kumari Selja, who has largely stayed away from the campaign, will join Gandhi at the rally alongside her ally Randeep Surjewala and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda. Poll managers have indicated that ongoing factional disputes have been negatively impacting party morale and election efforts.
The temporary truce emerged after Selja met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday for a lengthy discussion about her grievances, which continued on Tuesday, coinciding with her birthday. Selja has announced her intention to resume campaigning but has publicly expressed her discontent towards Hooda.

On Wednesday, she shared her campaign plans for Thursday on social media, which include attending Rahul’s rally and participating in three additional public meetings in Tohana and Hisar. Gandhi plans to continue campaigning in Haryana for the next three days.
Despite speculation regarding the absence of star campaigners, including Rahul and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a faction within the party believes they are reserving their top leaders for a final push. Sources suggest that Rahul feels dissatisfied with how the campaign is being managed.
Notably, Rahul was absent from the launch of seven guarantees for Haryana on September 18, despite being in the national capital.
